Upsell Opportunity with HID Bulbs

27 Feb 2018

Category: Articles, Company News

HID (high intensity discharge) bulbs provide motorists with the benefit of improved light output over regular automotive bulbs.

Benefit of HID for factors and motorists

The crisper, whiter light colour temperatures of 4100K and output of 3200 lumens help motorists see road signs and obstacles more clearly. HIDs are no longer expected to last the lifetime of the car. With the average lifespan of 3 years, many manufacturers have adapted HID technology to lower voltages in D3 and D4 references. This has created an excellent and profitable upsell opportunity for motor factors and installers.

Comprehensive HID range from Ring

Ring’s HID bulb offering includes D1, D2, D3 and D4 references. They come with an R or S suffix. Bulbs with the R suffix are designed to work in complex surface headlamp units whilst S bulbs are designed to work in projector headlamps. Ring HID bulbs are E marked and manufactured to OE standards and come with a 3-year warranty.

Catalogued on the F:Drive and MAM Autocat, Ring HID bulbs are available from FPS via same/next-day delivery. Please speak to your local FPS representative for more information.
