If you are travelling somewhere in the UK between 5th and 13th September and see a peppermint green jersey amongst a pack of cyclists, then chances are it is Neil Davis, Managing Director of FPS, cycling from Lands End to John O’Groats.
Neil is joining the annual ‘Ride Across Britain’, with the goal of covering the 960 miles in 9 days. The route will take him through Okehampton, Bath, Ludlow, Haydock, Penrith, Hamilton, Fort William and the Kyle of Sutherland. Neil has been in training for 3 months, but notes, “It’s hard to find 8 hours spare to cover a 100 mile practice ride, so most of the training has been done in the cellar on the static bike.”
He says he is cycling Land’s End to John O’Groats because “it is there and needs to be done.” However, he has another motivator to spur him along as he will be raising money for Kesho. FPS has supported this charity for a number of years, in their work to provide access to education for disadvantaged children on the East Coast of Kenya.
To make a donation and support this valuable cause, please visit Neil’s fundraising page. This can be found on BT My Donate by searching ‘neildavisfps’.
FPS also has a couple of extra custom-made shirts up for grabs. If you are a keen cyclist and would like to get your hands on some new gear, simply send your name, contact details and shirt size to firstname.lastname@example.org to be entered into a prize draw.
