Ignition Coils in the Winter

Ignition coils are 3 times more likely to fail in colder weather. Cambiare explains the common symptoms to look out for.

Ignition coil units are put under more strain which lead to a higher tendency to fail as the seasons change, bringing colder weather. A failed ignition coil can cause the following symptoms to surface:

  • Difficulty or failure to start the engine
  • Engine stalling while vehicle is idling
  • Misfiring, leading to power loss
  • Backfiring which can cause catalyst damage

Cambiare’s ignition coils are designed to be resistant to temperature fluctuations, moisture and oil ingress.

Cambiare offers more than 400 OE quality ignition coils that cover 16.6 million vehicles across the UK. Their diverse range of ignition coils comprises oil-filled, dry, pencil, rail and block coils.

Highlights include:

  • VE520457 for Chevrolet Aveo 1.4 (2008>)
