Transmission filters are designed to keep the transmission fluid clean. Every transmission system will eventually accumulate debris from normal wear and tear inside the gearbox; even “lifetime oils” are not exempt from this problem.
The transmission filter can be polluted as a result of material wear and dirt passing through the filter, resulting in clogging of the control unit which can lead to gear failure. It is vital that the transmission fluid is kept clean, so that the valve body and other key components do not become clogged, making them inoperable.
Regular replacement of the transmission filter kit will help extend the transmission system life span.
Vaico advises changing the gearbox oil and replacing the filter kit at regular intervals, generally between five to six years or a between a mileage of 40,000 to 60,000 miles.
Vaico transmission filter kits include all seals and installation materials and are tested according to German quality standards.
