In order to strengthen its braking portfolio, FPS introduced Braymann wear leads and fitting kits at the start of 2014 and due for launch soon is the Braymann range of brake pads and shoes. Drawing upon cutting-edge technologies and manufacturing processes, Braymann offers high-quality parts at a more affordable price-point.
Customers nowadays are more inclined to shop around to find the best deals but it is important to stress the need for high-quality brakes in order to ensure optimum performance, comfort and safety.
Braymann fits in perfectly to FPS’ ‘good/ better/ best’ product offering as a mid-tier range, providing high quality products at competitive prices. The braking market is saturated with a plethora of mid and budget tiered programmes of poor-quality parts. Braymann focuses on manufacturing pads and shoes with profiles that aim to match OE profiles including chamfers, slots, bolts or clips.
Braymann’s fitting kits and accessories cover over 93% of the UK vehicle parc and the pads and shoes range will cover up to 95%.
THE IMPORTANCE OF QUALITY
Although driving style, heavy-loads, traffic and environment play a huge role in how the braking system wears, low-quality brake pads and shoes can wear at a much faster rate, causing damage to other components within the system e.g. scoring of brake discs, resulting in the premature replacement of discs and pads.
Braymann’s pads and shoes with OE profile will ensure:
- Decreased stopping distance
- Better performance under extreme conditions
- Improved vehicle safety
- Reduced brake fading
- High level of comfort due to low NVH levels (noise, vibration and harshness)
Braymann’s OE quality pad and shoe fitting kits considerably reduce the chances of brake overheating, brake binding and brake judder, ensuring more effective brake performance.
BRAKE PADS AND SHOES
The Braymann friction range comprises over 600 pads and more than 250 shoes. One of the main features of the Braymann programme is that parts come with a full bill of materials, so customers receive shims, fitting clips, wear indicators, caliper bolts etc. all in the box, wherever applicable.
With braking being a highly safety-critical product, all parts are quality tested and comply with regulations (R90 where required). Extensive testing takes place to ensure they meet or exceed the OE performance.
Braymann products have been tested against other market leading competitors and OE manufacturers and, in some cases, have been found to out-perform both. Through studies, Braymann was found to produce less noise when braking at higher speed and higher pressures. Much more heat was measured on the back-plate of the competitor’s part, this is due to the under-layering on the Braymann pad – this also protects the brake fluid from boiling and brake fade.
Regular tests, outside basic R90 measurements, have been undertaken such as Alpine and noise testing on dynamometer and roads. Independent testing has proven Braymann pads are close to OE performances.
There is a 2 year/ 24,000 mile warranty on all Braymann products.
